Rotary International
With a motto of "Service Above Self," Rotary International is dedicated to making a positive impact through various projects and initiatives. Key areas of focus include supporting education and literacy, improving access to clean water and sanitation, eradicating diseases like polio, promoting maternal and child health, and advancing economic development.
Rotary International's flagship initiative, the PolioPlus program, has played a significant role in the near-eradication of polio worldwide. Through partnerships with global health organisations and governments, Rotary has been instrumental in reducing polio cases by over 99% since the program's inception in 1985.
The organisation fosters youth leadership and global understanding through programs like Rotary Youth Exchange, where students live and study abroad, and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), which empower young leaders with essential skills.
Rotary's impact extends beyond local communities, reaching vulnerable populations and addressing pressing challenges on an international scale. Through its vast network of dedicated volunteers, Rotary International continues to exemplify the spirit of service, making a substantial difference in the lives of millions of people worldwide.
