🌿 Roots & Routes with Myriam "I will talk about the Swiss region I lived in for almost 50 years – totally out of the usual tourist loop but quite interesting in its own way – along with a few reflections on life as an expat in Dunedin. I will also dive into some more personal topics, like whether an MSc in Environmental Engineering or an MBA is truly worth the effort, the thrill (or chaos) of starting a watch company, and the value of a family." |

The Cancer Society Southern is proud to invite you to a special screening of the groundbreaking documentary UnCharitable — a film that challenges conventional thinking about charity and philanthropy.
📍 Where: Tuhura Otago Museum, Hutton Theatre 419 Great King Street, Dunedin 🗓 When: Wednesday, 11 June 2025 - 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM 🎟 Cost: Free entry – but seats are limited! 📩 To reserve your seat: Uncharitable – Film Screening | Tūhura Otago Museum
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtaPoh74LIo
About the Film: Uncharitable challenges long-held beliefs about charity and philanthropy—particularly the notion that low overhead equates to effectiveness. The film exposes how these traditional expectations can limit the potential of nonprofit organisations, arguing that charities should be empowered to operate more like businesses: with the freedom to innovate, grow, and truly make a difference. Through compelling real-world stories, Uncharitable reveals how restrictive mindsets can stifle progress and urges audiences to rethink what it really means to do good. |
